fudgester SG *me mysteriously appears in a puff of smoke* I think I'll forget about going urban trekking today. I had a bout of nausea just now.... nearly puked my guts out. My head's still spinning somewhat now.
fudgester SG Since I can't go trekking today, I think I'll make up for it with a nighttime jog later. So.... when do you plan to go jogging?
av98m SG Turns out one of the ICs on my motherboard got fried. and my old ram and graphics cards not compatible with newer motherboards. But the motherboard is my fault. the IC that got fried had a small fan attached to it. I removed it and all the other fans when I disassembled the PC for cleaning last year. I forgot to put back that one fan. Hence the IC's premature death at 2.5 years usage. so lan lan spent $1,000 upgrading my PC, the only original parts left are my casing, power supply and drives
Meia Gisborn SG Well, at least you managed to identify the faulty part. Is the fried IC socketed or hard-soldered to the mobo? Can it be replaced?
Wanda SG AV, the consolation is that now the pc parts are cheaper...but whenever one needs to change MB, then that's it! - be prepared to change several other (costly) parts.
stellazio SG yar man, once motherboard gone usually must change everything. but actualyl why dun u try looking for ur old motherboards? espeicaly online.
